Attention to open debate and critical thinking

Critical thinking is an important part of a university education. However, we notice that this has been affected by biased education, statements and symbolic politics. In order to break through this, we have included a number of points in the chapters ‘Responsible diversity and inclusion policy’ and ‘A safe learning environment for everyone’ to make critical thinking accessible again, and to open up the social debate. There are a number of additional points that we want to commit to:
  • Encouraging an environment where each other's opinions or ideology are respected without exclusion as a result. Therefore, we do not participate in a cancel culture.
  • Introducing the annual Erasmus Debate on current topics to develop greater understanding of each other's ideology.
  • More attention for current social issues at the university. This can be done by means of events, guest lectures or via Erasmus Studio. Collaborations with student associations are desirable in this respect to provide a balanced picture of various subjects.
