Attention for international students and fellow human beings

With over 6,000 students, international students make up 22% of all students on campus from various places in the world. Internationals often pay much more tuition fees than local students, which means they are an important part of the reinvestment in the quality of education at EUR. However, many internationals indicate that they cannot function optimally because the university does not provide sufficient resources to fully participate in Dutch society. Liberi Erasmi therefore advocates:

Liberi Erasmi will guarantee the core value of safety, whereby every student can come to campus engaged and safely without feeling that he/she does not belong because of his/her ideology, personal and/or political preference.

Liberi Erasmi wants:

  • Providing Dutch language lessons from the university. 1/3 of international students indicate that the language barrier is often the biggest obstacle to functioning well, and that the opportunity to learn Dutch is often too expensive.
  • Programs from Erasmus University to learn more about Dutch culture and history.
  • A more favourable timetable for examinations for the New Year's Eve. Due to the lack of time between the examination and Christmas, some non-European students were unable to fly to their country of origin to spend the holidays with their families last year.
